“I will not let you go unless you bless me” (Genesis 32:26b).
Have you ever felt you were in a fight for your life? You duck. Your finances land a solid right hook. You weave. And your health sweeps you off your feet. You land flat on the ground.
As the sun rose, Jacob learned a lesson. We, from him, can learn a valuable lesson too. We all have to fight something, someone, but God wants it all. Not possessions, not money, you.
In life, we are fighting. Are you winning? Are you grabbing hold of God and saying, “I will not let you go”? Are you committed to the journey ahead? Are you willing to fight for Him?
He wants it all.
Jacob won that battle. What about you? Is God wrestling you? Is He testing you to determine whether you will hold on and not give up until you are the victor and not the victim?
God stepped away from Jacob and changed Jacob’s name to Israel “because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome” (Genesis 32:28). Will He be able to say the same about you?
Thank you that you chose me. Thank you for wanting nothing but the best for me, even when I feel lost and hopeless. Thank you for love and your pursuit of my heart. Thank you for your grace and mercy.
You said I am more than a conqueror. You said I can do all things. You said I can speak to my mountains. And because of you I can rejoice because you are building my character so that my hope will be in You.
I praise you for all that you are, all that you have done, all that you are doing, and all that will be revealed in the future.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
