Bible journaling in concept is dated. I’m sure your grandmother or mother wrote about what she learned during bible reading or study. However, I think the concept of bible art journaling in its present form is somewhat new.

I don’t have dates and/or statistics about either of these statements so you’ll have to take my word for it. Additionally, I don’t think its origination is as important as its usefulness.

Therefore, today I thought I would share a little about it and why I think everyone should try bible art journaling.

How many bibles do you have? And how did you select the one you use the most?

At one time that would have been a weird question to me. I had the same bible from my grandmother for most of my life. Then about 10 or 12 years ago I began searching for the one.

You know, the one bible that covers it all because no two bibles are just alike. Whether your aim is to read, study, journal. Different needs call for a different bible. And with there being many bible publishers and translations this increases the offerings.

Week 10 of Bible in 90 Days | Summer 2015

This week we will read 12 books in the bible. 12! To me, this week is the epitome of what I think when someone says “read the bible cover-to-cover in 90 days”. We will move strategically (using the reading plan) and swiftly (in seven days) through the minor prophets and end our week in the New Testament.

I read an interesting note that said the phrase “They will know I am Lord” is said 62 times in Ezekiel. What do you think God really want from YOU through this journey? He wants us all to know that He is Lord.

Week 6 of Bible in 90 Days | Summer 2015

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this? Esther 4:14

We are at a very interesting time in our country. So much has changed, their is unrest, hearts are heavy, lives have changed… 

It reminds me of a saying my grandmother would declare often, “we are in our last days”. 

This week’s reading makes me think of this passage where Mordecai makes Esther aware of his faith in the impending deliverance of the Jews. But he also imparts some words of encouragement, at least to my sometimes unsettled heart. 

Mordecai says “And who know but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14 NIV) [Read in context.]

Maybe you too have been positioned and planted in your current situation for such a time as this. To me is makes me believe, “I am made for this. This moment has not caught God by surprise, oh no, He has His children right where He needs them.” 

I hope you too find encouragement in the passages ahead.
