Rainbow

TGIF. I am slowly easing myself behind my desk. The topic for today’s 5 Minute Friday writing session is…Beyond.

Timer reads five minutes.

Minus coffee…long story.

Here I go…

Five Minute Friday: Rainbow by Dana Pittman

Out in the distance I see a beautiful rainbow. I look through the raindrop covered windshield to see the prettiest rainbow I’ve seen in a long time. I lean closer, as if I could touch it.

It makes me think about my childhood. It makes me consider my future.

How many times do our desires…wishes…seem like that beautiful rainbow? They appear colorful, bright…yet distant. Beyond our reach.

We continue to drive. I can’t help but think of the beautiful covenant attached to its beauty. Then I squinted because I thought I saw…wait…it can’t be…

Another rainbow.

Did He hear me? If so, just maybe the other rainbow was for me.

It could be wishful thinking. But hey, I’ll take it.

I’ll take it as a symbol of His beauty, His presence, His promise of what is to come…beyond what I can see.

Question: Is it just me…but are rainbows the most amazing display of His splendor?

After all of the drought in SE Texas this year’s rain has been nice. With that – rainbow’s. I almost forgot what one looked like.
Enjoyed the thought process of looking Him being able to see and know ahead of us. What he’s planned for us. What he’s shaped and molded us for. He and his plans for us are good. Thanks for reminding us.
