Permission to Shine
It’s Monday. I am sitting at my computer and my thoughts are inundated to To-Do’s.
My decision to move full speed ahead has altered my existence. It’s wonderful. But I’ve noticed something…

My decision did not change me. My decision merely freed my thoughts.
My thoughts went from “boy, I sure would like to…” to “I am….”
Wishful thinking...
My deepest desires once were expressed with doubt-laced sarcasm…because who am I to…[INSERT your dream].
Oh woe is me has been replaced with action.
But my decision did not make the difference…
My belief did.
What do you believe today?
What do you believe about yourself? Your goals? Your dreams?
What do you know in your heart you were created to do…to be?
Consider this…
“Remarkable work is always not on the list, because if it was, it would be commonplace, not remarkable.” – Seth Godin
To this I say…Be remarkable with no apologies and no excuses.
Being remarkable is not on the list because being remarkable takes work. It takes dedication. It takes confronting our greatest fears and walking as victors.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Nelson Mandela
I could write for days on this quote. However, I won’t. Instead I leave you with this…
Shine.
Question: How will you shine today?
