Meditation of My Heart Series: Introduction

I love reading and studying the bible. But my reading and studying would be in vain if the word is not so ingrained within me that my actions are like those of Christ. This is the goal. The goal of my life and the life of every believer.

Meditation of My Heart Series by Dana Pittman

Meditation of My Heart is a series on DanaPittman.com intended to stimulate your thoughts about scripture and its application to your everyday life. To begin I’ll post it once a month since the posts are longer in length. Each post includes:

  • Scripture
  • Journal Questions
  • Prayer
  • Daily Question for commenters.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Question: Do you intentionally engage with the word of God? If so, how?

I’m ashamed to say that, lately, I haven’t been. :( I’ve let life get in the way, which is ironic, since I wouldn’t even have life if not for God’s grace and mercy. I look forward to this series, Dana. :)

Taking notice is the first step. Next is to make a plan to engage the word to get some good stuff in us to positively affect our lives.

Psalm 19:14 is one of my favorite verses. What we mull around in our minds has tremendous potential to affect our lives. Our thoughts create the condition of our hearts, and from the overflow of our hearts comes our words and actions. What we meditate on can change our lives for good or bad.

“Our thoughts create the conditions of our hearts…” Loren, I agree. It is equally important to read and study the word. I intend to plant seeds of His words so my life can be fruitful. Thanks for comment.
